strange activity for my male pastel
i just fed my snakes and my male pastel started to do something hes never done before. after he ate he frantically went around and around his cage. not around the edge but like he was trying to avoid something. ive had him for about 5 years and he's never done anything like this. the only thing that is different is i recently got a female for him. after quarantine i moved her into the same room as my male directly above him. shes about 600 grams. is it a breeding thing? or is it just random? temps and humidity are all good. i thoroughly checked him out. no issues that i can see. i feed him live mice. (ive tried rats, frozen, everything to switch to frozen but he just wouldnt ever take it.)
someone please just tell me im being overly worried.
thanks,
Luke
Re: strange activity for my male pastel
Yeah I have a couple males who are nuts during breeding season! Most of which go off feed though and breeding is the absolutely only thing on their mind. Forces me to quarantine some males from the females so they don't have that scent anywhere close to them. They all calm down and go back on feed shortly there after. Your experience sounds the same, and not all males go off feed. Some males never stop feeding, but that is rare when they are in breeding mode.
