New Woma!

Got her from BHB this morning. She seemed darker than I thought she would so it makes me wonder if she's in a shed or not. Gave her a little extra humidity just in case.

Still I think this is gonna cause an Aussie Addiction for me pretty hard, She's just to cool. Now the 7 day wait begins.


Looking at getting her a male next. I keep seeing mentions of "Tanami" lines and "Zebra" Lines...Whats the story on them? Any good breeders for these in the states? I'd love a recommendation.

Hmmmm...Upon further thought this should be in Other Pythons or General Pythons shouldn't it? Sorry I got Excited! :) If someone could move it that would be great

I'm glad it's not just me!! Yeah I turned up her humidity to like 68, Hopefully next weekend she'll be fed and shed and I can do some real photos.

Tanami is a locality in Australia........what a zebra is, God only knows.

See, our fellow Aussie snake aficionados by in large keep their womas by locale. There are various localities of woma pythons - Tanami, Boodarie, Uluru, Pilbara, Moomba, Rockhampton Downs, etc. There are pattern, color and size differences unique to these locales. Unfortunately no one here can sell you a bonafide locality woma. They can look at a picture of an Uluru and only claim that their animals look close to the Uluru type.

Therefore, any breeder in the States that is claiming a pure Tanami woma is blowing smoke up your butt. The animals we have access to can't be traced back to specific locales. American breeders put higher price tags on a snake with pretty patterns and colors. Most people breeding these snakes would sell a drab pure locality animal for less than a mixed mutt with no traceable lineage and a pretty paint job.

So I guess trying to track down locales is out, is there a recommendation on what to really look for in Woma's from a stateside breeder or should I just settle for clean lines and good looks?

No one in the states can claim anything other than clean lines and good looks.

Luckily, "good looks" are in the eye of the beholder.

Just settle on animals that are healthy and are aesthetically pleasing to you.
