    Ferret Villa-
We had a Fiesty Ferret Cage (2 levels) and decided to upgrade our fuzzies home to give them more room to play since we work long hours.

    Need:

2 Ferret Cages of the same dimensions
    1 Pair of Bolt Cutters
    1 Hammer
    1 Chisel
2 True 4" Pipe pieces (without the bubbled out ends)
    4 True 4" Toilet Flanges
    Plexi Glass Sheeting
    Tape Measure
    *And some common sense*

Cage 1 decide where you want there to be a thruway. Cut the opening to the exact size of the toilet flange. put the flange on the inside of the cage and hook the 4" pipe to the outside make sure they are tight. Cage 2 same thing but you want to make sure you do it on the side that will match up with the tunnel (opposite side).

Plexi-glass flooring - these cages have a longer barred floor instead of the small squared mesh type so the plexi glass is cut to the exact inside cage dimension and slides in for a perfect fit. (easy to clean and not real noticible to people looking at the cage) -- Had to cut into 2 pieces for the top level to make the hole for the ramp that goes down.

Can use tile/ carpet or plexi glass all in preference really- only worry with the vinyl tile is if the are able to scratch a corner up and start chewing on it.

I have included an album from my Facebook page as it was too many photos to upload. And it goes step by step.

I can't lie, that's pretty friggin awesome!!! I still have my Ferret Nation from some previous fuzzies that I'm holding on to because I just know I'll end up with some more at some point haha. How many lovies do you have in there? They must love their new and improved mansion! :gj:

    Thats nice!

At one point I had 2 ferret nations side by side, I just took the 2 panels out of the connecting sides and and used some heavy duty zipties to hold the cages together.

We have 3 Lovies : Isabel, Achilles, Icarus. And yeah we just got our 3rd (Icarus) after ours turned 3 in febuary and he was a great investment to add to the family. Isabel and Achilles were rather lazy but now they all play so much more now we have a baby ferret. And yes they do I change it every week move the stuff up top down and the suff in the bottom up so they wont get bored.

Thats a great idea :) We hadnt thought of doing that. That prolly would have been easier but they like to sit in the tunnel and play too lol.

We usually like to upgrage their cages every year and I think this is the biggest we are going to go for now. (at least until we get a bigger apartment) It really worked out nice though all the bins under their cage have my mice in them i breed for my snake so it had a dual purpose and saved space. :) It only took us like an hour to get it all rigged up after we cleaned both cages really good.

If you guys have any questions on how to do any thing just let me know :)
