Prey switching - Success!!!
I switched my new Albino baby from live mice to f/t rats this weekend and she never seemed to even notice the switch - yahoo!!!
It's funny how some will switch from one to the other without any problems and then others are just sooo finicky - and believe me I have some of those really finicky ones also which makes this new baby albino such a pleasure to have.
My baby has gone from 110 grams (the weight when I purchased her) to her current weight of 225 grams. I had her now for about 6 weeks.
She is growing like a weed. Has already shed out twice for me within that 6 week span.
Just wanted to share the updates on my new little girl "Emily Ann".

Re: Prey switching - Success!!!
Wow! Congrats on the transition from live mice to f/t rats! My male normal used to eat small f/t rats and now will only eat live mice. I hope to get him on f/t medium mice soon.

Yeah, I've got a 1500 gram female normal that keeps switching her taste between rats and then back to mice. She will fast for months and then will only take mice for a while. Very frustrating to say the least.
I purchased a 5 year old male normal last Sept. and I have yet to get him to eat. He is just over 1700 grams and hasn't lost much weight at all. He has never taken a meal while I've had him. The previous owner did say that he had gone one year without eating while he had him. I've tried everything and still can't get him to eat.
