what is preovulation shed ?

Can anyone please tell me what is the preovulation shed?

Someone said after the preovulation shed the female is ready to breed.

Someone said after the preovulation shed, the female is ready to lay egg. too late to breed.

Which one is true.

I think that is post ovulation shed. I just read some threads. But still confused.

Pre ov shed is simply the shed they do before they glow and ovulate.

Neither of those statements is correct really.
Females are ready to breed WAYYY before their pre-ov shed.

Females will also breed after pre-ov shed, I've gotten numerous locks after pre-ov shed this year and in fact it's possibly the best time to get lock ups.

Pre-ovulation shed is the shed before she ovulates, but to me the most important shed is the post ovulation or the shed after she ovulates. That tells you you are going to see eggs in about 45 days:banana:

so whats the general time frame after pre ov shed that they ovulate? Or is there really a time frame on this one? I'm assuming it is just based on the time it takes each female to build the eggs that determines how long after that shed that they will actually ovulate?

Neither of my females shed until after they ovulated (no pre-ovy shed, only pre-lay/post-ovy).

Hmmm, well she just shed about 3 days ago, but I understand that after the female ovulates, she probably wont eat again til after laying right? I put a rat in the day after shed and she still chowed down, and has locked twice.
