    ladies, i need some advice!
i know i havent been on bp.net for very long but ive been reading the forums and chatting with people and really like that this forum isnt TOTALLY dedicated to animals. ive read about people finding love on here but never really gave it a thought. trust me, i didnt sign up here for that. its just been a great place for me because there arent many people in my area that are into snakes.

okay, so i started talking to someone from here and i am VERY interested. i know its way too soon to be thinking anything more than just a couple people chatting who share similar interests. its seems to be a whole lot more than just a love for snakes.

ive never met anyone online. i do have six older sisters and i dont know how id feel about them meeting someone online. i mean, how do they know they are who they say they are. we live in the same region of the country but still far away. i dont want to freak her out or anything but im really interested in her. what should i do? or not do? she'll probably read this and think im a dork but i think she likes the dork in me

Just be as honest as you can be and let it take time. I've had a BAD (but funny) experience when I met someone online (my story is here! http://www.wowmydatesucked.com/story...live-Garden-68 ) so the BEST thing I could tell you is to be casual and take it slow.

And oh yeah, be honest! :D;)

Like that person won't see this post , time time & more time, as with any relationship or potential one, take it slow and see where it goes.

Back in June 2001 I started talking to someone online we met in September 2001 and have been together ever since even though neither one of s was looking for a relationship but just looking to make a new friend.

We got married 2 years after we met and I could not imagine my life without him, he is my soul mate and meeting him was the best thing that ever happen to me.

Of course in 2001 everyone thought I was crazy  good thing I don't listen to people.

I think you should meet and see what happen, you might make a friend you might found more the only way to know is by meeting and spending time together, so go for it.

Right there with you. I was previously married to someone I met in real life and spent a few years getting to know before jumping into vows. Long story short, it didnt work out, spent alittle time just being myself then ran into, online, someone I had met in some online forums -years- ago. We chatted it up for awhile getting re-aquanted. Met in real life and we're now married with a two year old boy.
Ive met a few people offline, Im -very selective who I choose to accept in my real life from the virtual world and so far they have proven to be quality friends that have stuck with me longer than some real life friends.
there are some crazies out there, but you will never meet quality people without wadeing through them :D

thank you for all the advice. SheenaCamp, im sorry about that date from hell but at least you have a really great story to tell ;)

to the ladies who have had good things happen by meeting someone online, thank you for sharing. it still feels weird to actually think about someone ive never actually met but i guess as long as im still smiling and i can make her smile its worth a shot.

    thanks again! :)

This is so adorable. Why can't I meet a guy who "just wants to make me smile' lolol. She is lucky to have you, as a friend, and potentially as more. She would be silly to reject you, I say go for it :D
