Color, color, color. It's all about the color to me. I look for a Lesser I feel is a good example of the morph. If possible I request to see pictures of the parents to get an idea if the color is genetic.
If the Lesser has the coloring I want I'll make sure he is a solid eater and healthy.

There is no guidline to what is a good colored Lesser though, it's more personal preference. Get a snake that you will be happy with.

This is the Lesser I ended up going with. I choose him for his pattern and yellow coloring:

That's crazy the color difference between the two and being of the same morph! Both beautiful animals but interesting to see how much difference there is...

Seems like lessers show a HUGE amount of variation... more than a lot of morphs, but they should all show a lot of yellow in my opinion.

I chose my little lady because of how dark her back is and for the nice contrast in colors. She will lighten up as she ages, but she still has nice dark areas around her yellow spots and lines on her back, and has craaazy blushing... i think the biggest factor for me was the contrast between light and dark colors... ps the pics are my avatar and in my profile too lazy to post em

Here are my two. I wanted a black back lesser, and my male fits the bill:

Here's my girl - I love that she's so different from him:

And the two of them together, to show their contrast:

AGGGHHH! Now I REALLY can't decide as far as color for what I want when I get mine, lol! Getting a male/female pair, so maybe a darker & lighter between the two, lol!
