    Hi,

Yeah looks to be a browned out pastel but what the ravening heck is up with its tail????

I hope to God that thing has been seen by a vet. :please: :tears:

That looks as though it had retained shed and nobody removed it before it constricted the tail - I see raw flesh and the end of the tail looks as though it could be dead already. :(

Stuck shed on the head as well but that is ntohing in comparison. :(

Definitely a pastel that needs some TLC look up your local herp vet. If you are new to ball pythons you might wanna look at our caresheets.

If you can't find a vet we have a couple members that live in Cali who can steer you to one.

No.. no! it's not my BP. I saw the tail and told the lady that is trying to sell the snake to get it checked out ASAP. She was telling me she was trying to sell her pastel because she can't afford the care. I felt real bad for the poor thing, but I just wasn't sure if it was a pastel or not... kind of a side question for the real issue. But she is asking a lot for a snake that needs care... 250.00

IMO $250.00 is FAR too much especially for an injured pet....if she really cares about it I think a smaller rehoming fee would be more sufficient. Especially since (you?) would be willing to pay for the animals care AND vet bill....I'm not sure how much adult pastels go for, but I've seen 2010 and 2009s go for less than $100.00.....

Well it depends on how much it weighs - a breeding size female pastel should be worth a lot more than that I'd have thought (based on prices over here ).

But yeah she really should have taken it to the vet. :(

I don't know how much a vet would charge for dealing with that but I can't see it being that cheap.

If you're wondering if you should buy it I would probably pass - and that's based purely on the colour of her rather than the injury.

There is no way I'd pay anyone that kind of money for an injured animal.

She claims she's too poor for the vet, but she wants a mint for a snake she let get that way? Can you say greedy { another word for a female dog }?:rage:

Tell her you'll take the snake for free and get it treated before it gets worse. If she says no, tell her that since money is her top priority, you sincerely hope that no one reports her for neglect or cruelty, that would just be a shame.

    Some people!

If that's a male, for $250 injured or not, no way. It's lacking on quality. For a female....the injury makes me want to say no, but it doesn't *seem* life threatening. Keep in mind that some BPs, even on antibiotics, don't handle infection well and die from it.

pastel or not, that raw skin could get the snake infections and it can die. she is practically trying to sell a dead snake.
