question?

I was thinking if I place a peice of high protein dog food in the carrier and buy a mouse and said rodent eats the dog food on the way home. When the snake eats it the snake gets the protein from the food?
Does this make sense? :confused:

Protein is good for lean muscle. A snake is all muscle so a high protein diet would be good right. Right now she cant eat a rat she is a little over a year old but can eat mice all day long. I understand that rats are higher in protein than mice so if I add protein to mice.

mice and rats have damn near the same protein per size

snakes do not process processed food as good as raw prey:gj:

It's not going to make a difference to your snake. If BPs ate something like crickets that aren't much to talk about other than what they eat, then yes. Rodents are already packed full of protein, you really can't put anymore on/in them. I feed my rats dog food mixed with rat food and I haven't noticed any difference in the snakes, let alone the rats. It just gives them some extra nutrients for having/nursing babies that they don't get in their rat food. My pet rats get my dobie's expensive dog food, only because it's next to their cage, and they are pretty fat compared to my feeder rats-granted they get other crap :P I really haven't noted a difference in rat health/appearance between high quality dog food and what I call rat dog food.
