    Combat Convention! Any Horror fans?
So my friend from New York is running this convention in Las Vegas and it had themes of pirates, steampunk, horror and scif-i and fantasy. I am helping with the horror track decoration. We can't hang things on the walls and will have a few tables and pipe and cloth display racks. Does anyone have advice for how to decorate this kind of thing? I'm helping and I was thinking if someone had a projector, we could get film clips of goofy B-movies to play in a loop of some sort onto a screen and have some drawings of various monster villians. Does anyone have any other ideas? I kind of want to make a zombie bust out of something lightweight to hang or setup on a table. Keep in mind I have to either ship or fly these things to Nevada... XD

    Cheap, easy and portable:

Make yourself some scarecrows. You can make them look like various monsters. Use lightweight PVC pipe for the frameworks. Goodwill clothes to make the costumes. Benchpress type weight discs to hold them upright.

Styrofoam tombstones are cheap, light and easy. If you get the high density stuff it can be carved with a router to make it as elaborate as you want.

Hanging bats. PVC frame work, black trashbags and/or cheap black cloth. Use styrofoam balls for the heads. Hang them with fishing line.

If one of you is artistically inclined, make some movie poster replicas out of posterboard and the cheap poster frames you can get from Wallyworld.

Hit up a few party supply stores, they usually carry a limited selection of halloween stuff year round, and you can probably pick up a few cheap table decorations there.

Hope this gives you some ideas.
