Bedding

Hi, could someone take the time to make a list of what bedding is acceptable and not acceptable for a BP? Also, how big does the tub have to be for a baby to adult? I've heard you have to switch at least once, but how big for a baby? Thanks!

Avoid Pine, Cedar, and Sand, Pine and Cedar contain toxic oils that are hazardous to BP's. And sand can get in between their scales and cause problems. Other than that your choices of substrate for the BP is a lot. Plenty go with Aspen, Repti-bark, Coconut husk/shavings/paper-towels/newspaper/unprinted paper/butcher's paper/etc.

For a juvenile, you can go with a 10gal size, or a tub that is similar in those dimensions. An adult BP can live it's entire life in a 20-30gal tank or sized enclosure. From that being said, choose which you prefer. Just make sure your husbandry is correct and he/she is eating properly. And you'll have one happy BP. These are just my opinions though.
