spray paint in cage?

Question, i was thinking of a future cage for my snakes and i was wondering if spray paint would be very harmful. i was thinking of spraying fake plants and then covering them with spray paint gloss and letting them air out for 1-2 months. would that be very harmful? or is there any other way of coloring plants?

I dont know if that would be great for their resperatory systems... plus, what if they rubbed against it and it peeled off? I'm not exactly sure, but if I were you I wouldnt take a chance. If you really want to go for it, research, research, research.

Depending on the type of paint being used. But even then, I still wouldn't risk it with these BP's. Heat can create fumes from the paint, melt, etc. That's just my opinion though, but who knows. Maybe there is a safe form of spray paint.

well the heat mat wont be touching the paint. i heard krylon was animal safe. but i am wondering on what other paints or colors people know that will be safer.

make sure the paint is done outgassing and your fine, water based products are the least toxic

heat will make the paint outgas more (or any material that outgasses) since your going to be introducing it to a heated enclosure, I would suggest letting it outgas inside the enclosure at a higher temperature than normal heat that cage up to 120 or something and let it do its thing, once you can't smell anything coming off the paint anymore, then you can turn the temps back down to normal, sterilize and be good to go.
