    Getting my male ready
Hi Guys, I bought a male pastel last year and he was a late born February 2010 he currently weighs in at 210g and would like to breed with him at the end of this year. I would never try to breed him at his current weight, does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him to gain weight, he is quite the fussy eater.

    Thanks,

First off make sure your husbandry is correct you can check out our care sheets for help with this.

Second privacy and size of prey item. I've always had great success getting hatching's to become great eaters my approach is simple, I don't feed them anything that will scare them from feeding. Sometimes a rat or mouse that is too big will scare the Bp.

For this reason I feed young Bp's a small meal every 5 days. You might be asking whats small? A rodent a little smaller than their girth something that really doesn't give them that big bump.

Privacy some Bp's like to eat with the light off with you away not in their face.;)

    Good luck!!
