    Japan's 8.9 earthquake
In case you haven't heard Japan was hit by a massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake early this morning. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationwo...,1950058.story

From the news it looks the like the entire country it at a stand still. I lived in Yokosuka for 3 years and I'm blown away by just even the fact that they stopped the trains. Even during past earthquakes I've never heard of them not running like clockwork, which attests to the severity of this one.

So if you could please direct your prayers and good thoughts over to Japan and anyone else affected by the resulting tsunami.

I've got a number of friends out that way, plus a number in the vicinity or in the pacific (including GF's parents) who may be affected by potential tsunamis. Kinda scary..

There's an advisory for people living on the CA coast, specifically Santa Cruz (Marina Del Rey) and LA. Waves up to 6 FT are anticipated, they're saying for people to move inland and prepare for the next 10 hours just in case.
