    UV lighting for ball pythons..
Now I have heard over and over that ball pythons do NOT need any UV lighting, because they are nocturnal anyways, so on and so forth. Well I was just curious if anyone knows of any scientific studies that have occurred to back up either side. I know they obviously don't NEED it to thrive, since millions of owners never use any UV lighting, but is it beneficial? Anyone have any links to studies, or know of any books to find studies? This is simply for my own curiosity and knowledge. Thanks!

They get all the calcium they need from there whole rodent diets. They do not need uv to produce vitamin d. I know there are some good articles out there on the matter but i cannot find them right now,but the proof is pretty much there, they are nocturnal and spend there days in rodent burrows (getting no uvb).

    my 00.2 cents.

Thanks for posting, I am looking for specific studies. I am aware that they don't need it and why, just looking for some studies to read through...thanks though..:gj:
