    Deformed Animals
So some time back we bred a Pied male to a het female. The het female ended up giving us a bunch of dud's and one good egg. Holding out hope for a pied when it came time to clip eggs I have to admit my disappointment to see a normal animal. However I began holding out hope for a Het pied Female..Well as she emerged from the egg, she was indeed a she. However again much to my disappointment she was kinked..

But with some TLC, she took her first meal no problems, and hasn't looked back since. She eats, poops, shed and bites just like a normal Ball Python..

Ignore the stuck shed on her head..the little turd

She has the large Kink and then she has some smaller ones on her tail that you have to feel to know are there

All in all a ver friendly and pretty snake.

Now many of you will ask me what I plan to do with her..well she was going to just be a mascot to show people that a kink looks like. But a Nice lady in CO saw her on my FB page and asked if I'd be willing to "Rehome her" I told her I'd be happy to, she'll make someone a great pet so as soon as the weather clears a little she'll be boxed up and on her way..

Thanks for looking..and remember deformed doesn't mean dead..

Very touching. Glad too see she'll have a happy ending to a story that had a not so happy beginning.

These things tend to happen at times. I don't believe anyone has determined the cause for this condition. I would like to have a scientific reason for this thankfully rare condition.

Have you ever seen Ralph Davis' "guts" and "guys re-visited" videos? (I know they sound bad..) but he totally saves a baby that looked to have this same condition. He stitched it right up with a needle and thread and lived a happy life! No probs at all! A lot of us agree he could have been a little more "sterile" through out the process, but it didn't seem to have any effect on the outcome. Check out the vids.. they are pretty fascinating.

Yea he did take a lot of crap for it. He could of been a bit more sterile but then again hes a breeder not a surgeon!

Some may of just tossed it to the freezer. sterile or not, it lived :gj: Thats all that matters

One of our snakes is a bit deformed. We were given her by a breeder I deal.

She was born with a malformed head and tiny (twin) The breeder said she was small if she was a corn. He was unsure what to do with her so he tried to feed her but she was a non feeder.

After a while he started to think about euthanasia but around that time she decided to bite him and he figured that if she had enough will to fight left he was going to fight for her too. She was fed with a pinkie pump for months and then she moved up to pinky mice. And on and on. We got her almost a year ago now she arrived just over 110 gms at one year old. She is now 326gm and is almost two. She is eating rats but she can't manage or won't try anything larger than a fuzzy that is ok we give her two or three. She is the sweetest animal ever I love all of ours but she is just so calm.
