Deal or No Deal?
It's yet another post about Craigslist (sorry if it's getting a bit redundant). Usually when I'm checking out CL, I expect to see some normals and maybe 1 or 2 morphs once in a while for the standard price but today, I found something that might be interesting:
(Original post)
"This is my last pastel ball python male which is very bright. He is around 200grams and is eating great, well started baby. 100% healthy. He was from a pastel to lemon pastel breeding so he may be a lemon pastel. Re-homing for $80."

Now, I happen to think that $80 for a Pastel is an awfully good deal but I'm a little reluctant to drive an hour out of my way to possibly be disappointed. Is this one of those "too good to be true" deals or do you all think I should go for it? The old saying of "you get what you pay for" comes to mind but there are some exceptions sometimes, right? Also, on a scale of 1 to 10, how "impressive" is this pastel? Thanks!

$80 for a male pastel isn't exactly a huge deal in my opinion. If you can talk them down a bit it might be worth the drive. Just my $.02...

Seeing as normals usually go for $75 I thought it was a pretty good deal. Where do you think this one fits on a scale of 1 to 10?

A normal might go for $75 at a pet store. Most people buy from breeders. I've seen pastel males from $50-75 typically. He's a great looking little snake right now. The pics aren't super good but it looks like he has some orange on him. That tends to brown out as they get older. He also appears to have a pretty low level of blushing. It is hard to tell from the shots though. Again, just what I see :) A buyer always determines what an item is worth by what you are willing to pay for it. I think that's a mid-grade pastel in my opinion.

If you like him buy him. Dont let anyone persuade you away from something that caught your eye. And 80 for him is a good deal as hes not going to brown out that bad

I'd be a little leery about how the snake is on a black and white background so there is nothing to compare his color to. Maybe ask for additional pics

Re: Deal or No Deal?
Thanks for all the advice guys! I will definitely be asking him/her for some more pictures before/ if I decide to make the drive out there. With gas prices shooting up to $4.25 a gallon and rising over here, I am definitely going to get all the info I can out of this person before I finally make up my mind. I'll update with some hopefully better pictures. :please:

Re: Deal or No Deal?
I agree with Lupe, very easy to "shop" the yellow since it's on a busy, black and white background. But I hope this turns out like a good find for you :)
