Age/weight for breeding of trans pecos rat snakes?
Title says it all. I'm trying to find out the ideal breeding weight and age for trans pecos rats. I can't find it on any search I have done!

Usually, by the time they are three they are ready to breed. Some breed earlier - some breed later. It depends on the individual snake and often it depends on the breeder - especially whether the breeder is willing to "push" it to get the animal to breeding size earlier.

Most of my females were ready to breed by the time they were four years old and were about 38" long. Then again, I know people who consistently bred theirs much earlier.

Subocs don't lend themselves to accelerated growth. It's better to let them get to a suitable breeding size and age on their own.
