Hide preference raising concerns

So I have him in a tank I know I know... but he has two identical hides, lots of foliage so he feels a bit safer, and uths on both sides. But he prefers the hide on the left of his tank.... I even switched the temp of the sides... and he still prefers one of his hides and i don't want him to pick comfort over temperature regulation, but I am just clueless as to why he prefers that one hide... any experience with this? or recommendations?

You'll have that sometimes, he may use the other hide when you are not aware.

what are your uth set to ?

81 on cool side and 91 on hot but even when I switched side temps he still stayed on that one side

how long have you had him and have observed this ?

about two weeks and ive had him about a month

try swapping the hides. i know they are identical but maybe there is a subtle difference ur bp prefers. its worth a test at least

He is preferring that side... whatever hides over there, whatever temperature I make it? I dont understand

hmm The only other thing I could think of is a really good tank cleaning. There may be a scent on that end of the tank. Just a thought.
