Is my BP mad at me?

I got my BP about a week and a half ago, i absolutely love him. He seemed to be very tame. I fed him over 24 hours ago and i gave him time to eat/rest but now, 24 hours later, he seems to be very very upset and not wanting to be touched at all. actually when ever he sees me he immediately goes back into his hide. he didn't do this before. Why is this?

He is still settling in, give him more time, keep handling to a minimum then increase over time.

Alright ill keep that in mind, but the breeder i got him from sold him to me with a lot of mites, i cleaned him up well and it seemed he was very comfortable with being handled. this behavior is because he is still settling in? he was never jumpy before and now he seems very startled and scared after being fed.

What did you use to treat the mites?
He is in a new environment, it will take a little while for him to settle in.
What is his set up like?

I soaked him in a diluted betadine bath and sprayed his cage with "natural chemistry reptile spray".

All of the live mites have been killed, i will re clean in 2 or 3 weeks to kill the larvae that may have survived.

while being treated he had paper towels with two hides and a water. now i noticed there are no more mites so i put aspen bedding. he has one warm hide and one cool hide with a water dish a little on the cool side. he is mostly in his warm hide with his head about 2 inches out of the hide.

It is recommended to use Provent-A-Mite to take care of a mite problem works quickly, and 1 can will last a very long time.

Soak again in a week for any newly hatched mites.

Does he have a hot spot, controlled with a thermostat?

Yes he has a controlled heating pad right under his warm hide.

Also, he really shouldn't be handled for 48 hours after feeding. It can cause him to regurgitate his food.
