    Buying rack vs building rack
Well ive come to the cross road of needing a rack because tanks are starting to take up space. Ive been skimming the boards looking up ideas and ive def found alot of cool ones.

I have been going to the local exotic pet shop and have gotten on really good terms with one of the people there. Her husband has a nice rack, melamine wood, heat tape set up for 10 tubs for 150.00

    vs

Building my own rack. I have found a few plans i like plus wont be hard to put together. Im a decent carpenter. Wanting to house minimum of 6 snakes to 10 max.

    http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...ns...-For-free!!!!

these are the two i found that i like. Im up to 3 ball pythons, one being delivered tmrw and a reptile show coming up nxt week.

Max cost i can spend is 150 for wood, heat tape, tubs etc etc

I know nothing about heat tape too. where to get it, how to install it etc etc

    Input is appreciated.

ok this is my opinion and some people might not like it but im just putting in my 2 cents i built both of my racks i can house up to 24 juveies or up to 16 subadults or 8 breeders but like right now one of my racks has 12 subadults/small adults and 6 juveies i built mine so i could use them either way and thats the way i like it i could hold up to probly 32 babies on my racks if needed so i say build it but if i had the money i would just buy one just because it took awhile to get everything the way i wanted it but with building it you have to buy wood, tubs, heat tape, and a good thermostat like each of my racks the wood was free for me but i still spent 200+ per rack so i guess it would be up to you but if you need heat tape go to reptilebasics.com and he can set it up for you if needed
