Do You Think It Would Work?
    Hello my BP brethren,

I found some stackable tubs (called modular drawers I believe) that slide out at the ole wal-mart, different than the ones you usually see. I was looking at them and it looks like the snake cant get out of these unlike the older style. They come in single drawers that slide out and is fully enclosed on the top with virtually no gap. Not even a baby could slip through there. I'm talking like a 16th of an inch maybe.

But anyway, the actual tub measures 17 1/8 D x 24 W x 10 H. Roughly 2/3s of a 41 qt tub. Do you think this would be big enough to house an adult male BP? How about a female? I'm thinking it would suit a male just fine but would be a little tight for a big fatty girl. I have 41qt tubs to keep my big girls in anyway, but I'm thinking it would be a lot easier to keep some of my males in these. I already have a plan on how to wire the heat tape so thats not a problem. But anyway what do you think?

I dont have any right now, I havent bought one of them yet. I was just wondering if that would be big enough for them? Ill go get one and then post a pic after I do some escape experimenting.

But anyway do you think that is enough space for them to live in?

Ill be back with one in a minute. lol

Ide say big enough for a male, But I think I would still put it and the snake in something else till I was sure he could not get out. Just seen too many boxes of this type that snakes get out of.

Thats what im gonna do. Im gonna go get one now and put my most curious male in there to make sure its escape proof before I even think about leaving them in there.

I would say it would work for anything under around 3-4kg
But if you are going to stack them, it might be difficult to setup your flexwatt, and regulate the tubs, since for every tub, you are basically going to have two sheets of flexwatt on them, above and below. Since there is no shelving, just thin plastic. But, hey if it works, it works!

I plan on cutting a piece of 1/8 in. board I have to fit the top of each section. The only way for them to escape is to push the front open with their head. How I am going to remedy that is to get those little things that will swing down and block the drawer front coming open. Sorry im not sure what they are called lol. I gotta make sure there is absolutely no way for them to escape before I actually move them in tho. Im also open to any other ideas.

Here is a pic of one of my males in it.
