    Pre-Lay Shed!
My girl ovulated back on Feb. 5th and finally had her pre-lay shed last night/this morning! Is 23 days a normal timeframe for a pre-lay shed to occure? This seemed a bit long to me...Although this is my first breeding season.

    Here are some pics.

Timing between ovulation and pre-lay shed can vary between girls. Now you get to wait for eggs! :gj::rolleye2:

*I looked at my records and I had sheds from 15 - 22 days after ovulation.

    Hi,

The main problem I think is we just can't teach the snakes how to read the books. :P

Im sure its normal. Congrats on the shed. My girl is on day 15 today after ovulation. She should be shedding any day now.

Thanks! I palpated her tonight and felt 6 eggs for sure! Would I be able to identify slugs at this point? All of these eggs felt very soft (almost hard to detect).

    Thanks again!

I also have another question that I forgot to ask. If a snakes pre-lay shed takes longer...Does it effect the time that she lays eggs after the shed. I know typically it's about 27-35 days (would this be shorter).
