    Holes in sterilite containers.... help/suggestions
So I finally got tubs for my 2 bps ... just using the regular UTH at this point no flexwatt and they're sitting on top of a desk.. no time or money to make a rack as of now... I have read a lot about putting holes in the containers so I need expert advice on:
    Where they should be?
    How Many?
    How big?
    How far apart?

my apartment is set at 72 and I live in Los Angeles (for an idea of temp/humidity)

My tubs are 32qt Sterilite. (Ignore the one in the middle that's a hatchling one that I haven't set up... just have to be ready in case I decide to get a baby last minute :) )
    Pictures are below:

Also... Please include HOW to drill the holes... I have read about burning the holes and also drilling.... I don't have a drill so any other options would be ideal (although I can probably borrow one from someone).... Your help is much appreciated!! Thanks

(the tank underneath in the picture doesn't have any animals in it so please ignore it lol)

I just straighten out a wire hanger, get it hot with a small torch and it goes right through. Before I start I take a ruler and put two lines on it near the top. I usually start with around 10 holes per side. 5 per line and see how it works. If I need more I add more...

Persoannly I just use a pocket knife. It makes the edges of the holes really rough so I melt the sides smoothe with a lighter. Just how I do it.

i would have a few for cross circulation, but i always used vent holes to balance my humidity or temp. if i found i drilled to many holes, i would use the silver aluminum tape and apply it from the outside, then when i needed to i could remove it.

I usually put a good amount on the front of the Tub, like, maybe 3 rows of 6, and than just a few more down each side(on my big CB70 tubs, I only put about 5 down each long side). Just start with less so that you can make more if your tubs are condensating to the point where the tubs are wet. Humid=good, Wet= Bad.

On my 28qt sterilites I put as many holes as I can fit down each side 1" apart..comes out to about 18 or 19 I think. I use a soldering iron to melt my holes, but have used a drill b4 and when I did I used a 1/4" drill bit. Also I keep my reptile room at 76-78*F and around 35-45% humidity so you might not need as many holes as that.

My girlfriend and I, just recently moved to tubs. We were unsure of this aswell, so we did 6 on each side.

I live in a place with relatively low humidity, so we were unsure if this was too much.
But, rest assured. My female had a clean shed 2 days ago, so I am satisfied.

    I used a soldering iron.

You can make holes with anything, a pocket knife, wire hanger, or if you would like, a soldering iron, which makes nice smooth round holes :D
