Caramel het influence?

Have you noticed an influence from the Caramel gene in hets? I can easily see an influence in het hypos, they tend to have a certain glow about them. I was lucky enough to secure these two Fires het Caramel and they sure are busy in pattern. Just wondering if this is a common influence?

Great question, I see the influence in het hypos also.
I believe a lot of the recessive traits will show some influence on co-doms/doms.
I'm hoping to find out with clown and black pastels/yellowbelly's and a granite this season.

The pattern on that first fire het reminds me a lot of a yellowbelly ... :confused:

I can't comment on the caramel influence as I don't have/haven't made any hets yet, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least. Not sure if a busy pattern would necessarily be it, though, since caramel is really just a pigment and not a pattern mutation. I know my caramel is very reduced/banded, and it looks like yours is too (lovely girl BTW!).

Those are some pretty, funky fires, though. Good luck with the project -- caramel fire sounds like an awesome snake!

It's neat to see the influence. I see brightness and a short face in het clowns. The Axanthic gene seems to add green in hets.

Thanks! I am hoping the Fire gene will clean up the black flecking on the Caramel but won't take too much color out. Time will tell :clap:

Wow, your fires definetly look different.

I have a 100% het caramel male and he is very dark but he has a lot of white in his pattern and a head spot. I also have a 66% poss het caramel female who I have a good feeling she will prove out. She is lighter and has a lot of white in the pattern and a head spot as well. We've hatched some poss het pieds and poss het axanthics and there were many that looked different from the rest.

Yeah, I love his Caramel Mojaves. Im also planning on breeding our Caramel male to our Cinny girl later on. I think Caramel Cinnys will rock. Can you imagine Caramel Super Cinnys too! :D

Thanks! I have had Caramel Fire in my crazy mind for a long time. Just now getting around to making one. I'm not very patient so I got adult female Caramels and Fires het Caramel males. lol :giggle:

Caramel Cinny will be AWESOME! So rich in color with that neat pattern. Do it do it!
