    sorry if this has been posted befor im looking for a good substrate for my females that are gravid ive heard cypress bark is great but i want something easy to spot clean and thats not gonna kill me on price right now i use newspaper or paper towels and where could i get it?

    I recently switched to Aspen for my Bloods and am loving it.

    Get it from a feed store for a great price!

    Aspen or newpaper. Aspen just is a bit harder to clean :P

    If you want something other than paper, coconut husk is cheap and easy to spot-clean.

    Coco Coir (eco earth) It is hard to get cheaper it is a bit messy but digestible. I pay about 1.25$ Canadian per cubic foot.

    I personally have had the best experience with cypress mulch. Also Eco Earth is also good, but can be very messy especially when dried.

    I use unprinted news paper or paper towels for my collection. When females are nearing ovulation and stop eating I switch them onto aspen bedding with a bigger water bowl for humidity. Once the lay their eggs they go back onto news paper. It has worked for me.. :gj:
