    Anyway to stimulate my BP??
I start raising BP 5 years ago. I have two pairs. But I keep failing to breed till now.I have successful on nearly all of burmese and tree phytons. But not with balls......I don't know why.I followed the FAQ which stick on the top .Written bu Marcus Jayne. But it helps little. They didn't even mate. And sometimes they mate but no eggs laid....It is very hard breeding balls. Is it there a "key" requirement on breeding them? Please do help me....Thank you!!:please:

Have you tried introducing a second male to your breeder male's enclosure/tub? I've got a male here this year that will not show interest in the female I've paired him with until after he's had five minutes or so sparring with another male. I guess he needs a confidence boost before he'll lock with a female.

If not using a second male, then using a freshly shed skin from another male or the sperm plugs of another male put on the back of the intended female might prompt him to start courting.

I would try the shed and other options instead of a second male.

I would make sure you're putting a male with a female...then you just have to check your husbandry..temps and humidity...if you've done due diligence as far as research goes then there's no way that you've been trying to breed for more than 2 years completely unsuccessfully if everything is spot on...I'm sorry, but I don't think it's your snakes that need stimulating.

I think some snakes are just weird...

I have a breeder male that never shows any interest in the ladies until mid February and he has been that way his entire life. I have almost given up on him before but now I've learned his odd behavior so I start to introduce him to the females in mid January to see if he's ready or not, since it's no use for me to do it before that. It will only give me gray hair.

But, as stated before, you should make sure that you really have a male - that would make things easier!

    Just my two cents...

    Good luck with the breeding!

Someone came to me with the same problem a while back. They said that they had been trying to breed for a while, and they had even seen the two lock up but didnt know what was wrong because the female had never laid any eggs. I sexed both of them and they ended up both being males..... Sometimes males will "lock up" so make sure the sexes are right. Sexes are easily mistaken even by someone that is "trained".
