Hah, yeah he is a cute one.
Blues are what got me interested in making pet rats and sent me on the pursuit of finding quality breeding stock.

You have some gorgeous rats. And it sounds like they have some pretty big litters!
Thanks! and yes I have had some really big litters lately except from my dwarf boy who some how got his girls to only drop 7, 6 and 10 kits. Last month I had four litters of 18, two of 17 and numerous litters of 15 and 14 :) A few smaller litters but on average it was a great month.

I also have some pet rats (in a mansion rat cage separate from my feeders and breeders. Haha).....people always think I'm weird (well, weirder  ) when they find out that I have snakes and pet rats.
lol, oh yeah it's bad enough with how some people treat snake people but when they find out you also breed pet rats it sends some of them over the proverbial edge

No it's not random but rather a recessive trait so both parents need to carry a copy of the dwarf gene to make them.

And where can you find black-eyed Siamese?! I can't find them anywhere!! Or how do you make them?
I am not sure where you can find the black eyed Siamese unless you live local to me ;)
I really like the black eyed ones but the ruby eye and pink eye ones are nice too IMO.

Also, I noticed that your Siamese have what looks to be very light fur (and pretty much all other Siamese that I see in pictures). The Siamese girl I have has more of a tan fur that starts shading starting in the middle of her back and is very dark by the time it gets down to the base of her tail. Is she not a good quality Siamese?
I'd want to see a picture of her to hazard a guess but maybe she's young still?
They start out quite golden colored and as they age only the points stay dark.

Awesome!
Dumbo's are super cute but a quality top ear is also IMO.
Here's A blue top eared I made in early 09 just as I was transitioning over to all dumbos...

I was lucky enough to be able to pick up my original breeding stock(good timing) and have really enjoyed making some super friendly pet quality critters.
Our original group of 12 rats set us back over $400 but over the almost 2 years I've bred them it's been well worth that original investment.
All Dumbo's and the ability to produce black's, blue's, Siamese and Dwarf's with Rex's and Velveteen coats made it an easy choice over buying standard black hooded and other mass produced top eared rats.
I've since hooked up with a partner and we share rat genetics so neither of us are doing too much inbreeding unless it's necessary.
