Possibly Getting Brachypelma albopilosum (Curly Hair Tarantula)
I held one at the Wheaton All-Animal Expo, and I fell in love. I never thought I would, but I did.

I also liked the Mexican Red-Knee but the Curly Hair just seemed so much slower and more 'gentle'.

What do you guys recommend? I know all the basic husbandry requirements, but anything else special about these guys? Particular breeders that I can get these from?

Also, is it bad that I want to start with a sub-adult/adult? The smaller and faster the spider, the more intimidated I am by it.. So I wanted something bigger.

Is it alright to feed dubias to these guys? Roughly how do I determine what size prey I should feed them?

P.S. I know handling is not recommended, so you don't have to repeat that to me. I just want a more docile animal to start with in case I absolutely need to handle them.

    Thanks,
    -JW
