Size different in male and female
I got my ball python dec 30th, not sure if its male or female but i just call it a female haha,
My friend has a 2 year old male ball python whos only about 3 feet, my baby is almost 9 months old and is 2 feet already ..
also the one they have left down to the pet store is only like a foot long small compared to mine..

does the female get much bigger ? whats the average size in lenght and width for these ball pythons ? male and female ?

You're probably not going to be able to sex a BP by the size it tops-out at.

and length means nothing as well.

I have females who are shorter and heavier than ones longer. Weight means everything on lenght

Bps are short heavy bodied animals. Like Rich said, length means nothing. The best way to measure a BP is by weight and even then that cannot tell you the sex of the animal. I have an '09 male that is 950 grams and '08 females that are 1,500 grams. They are a year older, but not that much heavier. And he's the same length as two of them.

If you really care you can try to find a breeder in your area and ask them if they will sex your ball python. I know some vets will do it, but I will warn you it's not easy to find a vet that actually knows ball pythons. The reptile 'expert' vet in our area 'sexed' one of my bps by the spurs  Needless to say, there aren't any vets in my area that know ball pythons. Your best bet is probably to find a breeder in your area :gj:

Length will help you none. You will need a pro to pop or probe your animal.
