    1st Bp :)
Hey guys, i've been lurking these forums for awhile now, finding out information on these guys and just browsing. Yesterday i finally got my very own Ball Python :) Thought i would share. He is a year old, breeder told me he is pastel but not to sure. Friendliest little guy. Also the previous owner told me he just finished shedding but the head and eyes are still covered, any ideas on what i should do?

Congrats! Welcome! I'm not sure what you can do for the skin on the head. I don't think you are supposed to pull the skin off of the eye caps could cause damage. I'm sure someone will give you advice.

Thats a nice pastel you got there, to handle the stuck shed you could give him a humid hide with something to rub against to get it off if the shed was recently, but if it was like that for a few days you could give him a soak in lukes warm water and that should soften/loosen it up enough allowing you to get a q tip and gently roll back removing the stuck shed. It is important you get the eye caps if there is shed at the end of the tail off.I am somewhat a beginner my self with ball pythons, but i am sure what i said was correct,if i am wrong or missed out on something someone will correct me or add on .I am sure if you type in stuck shed on the search, you will get a 100 different post on different ways to safely deal with stuck shed.

    Welcome to the forum :gj:!

Soak him in a tub with an inch of lukewarm water (26-28C) in a warm place or over a statted heat mat with something to rub against (bit of wood or a stone) until it just slides off. Could take a couple of hours. Don't let the water cool down too much.
