Not something you see every day: Varanus yuwonoi
I figured it has been over a year since I updated photos of these guys so it was time to do so. They're all pushing 4 feet now. The cages are a bit bare as it is too muddy out here to have soil hauled in. As soon as the snow and ice melts I'll be able to add a few more feet of bedding. We're also planting creeping fig in the cage once the starts develop a bit more and putting moss and plants in their ponds this week. I'll update the pics as we make further modifications.

The combined footprint of all three cages is 96 sq ft. Each cage is 6 feet tall (we wanted to go taller, but were constrained by ceiling fans). There are trap doors connecting each cage to limit our interaction when it comes time to introduce the male to our two females. So to answer where it is at, it is in our retic and monitor room.

    Very nice!
Does anyone know where I could get some of that mesh in the Detroit area? I need that for my set-up.

Any home improvement store will have it. Lowe's or Home Depot if they're in the area. Or anywhere that will sell marine netting.

that is awesome! I love the netting idea...never thought of that! Now how do you drain and clean the little pond area?

Sorry for so many questions.....just trying to get ready for our Thyssa cage build out.

The ponds are filtered via a sump that pulls water from one side and returns it on the other.
