rat rack tub options?

    rat rack tub options?
    Ok so im looking at turning the closet in my reptile room into a rat rack. Im wonderin what every one used for tubs. I know theres the morter tubs from home depot but there almost 13 bucks each and id like to get the tubs as cheap as I can

    They have smaller mortar tubs at Lowes for like $6.

    You can go with the mediums. They are only $5.98. Ifr you get them from lowes they are $5.25. It ends up being pretty good because steralite's are like 7 and even websauraunt tubs are around 5 after you pay shipping (and they can be chewed). So depending on which mortar tub you go with it is better. The home depot tub is stronger and better made, watch the hanger hole in the front. The lowes is a little thinner plastic but has no hole. They are both about the same size at least within 1". I just got done pricing out and building my rack. If you get everything from lowes it ends up being about 10 bucks cheaper.if you need a cut list and price sheet I have it saved somewhere.

    It all depends on how much room you have and how many rats you need to produce. Every situation is different.

    power what ratio do you run with the rats?

    JD thanks for the offer but im doin em 2 or 3 wide and kinda short so itll fit under the shelf

    Have you considered ventilation? A closet is not going to be well suited for rodent rearing.

    yes I have. Its a sliding style door that I plan to leave open
