Herp Show vs Private Sale

Ok. I know I have read that people have gotten great deals on morphs at herp shows. And I was wondering -

What is the big difference in pricing at a herp show compared to the say the price i would pay on site at someones location? And is it always better to go to herp shows to get morphs of any snake?

Well at a herp show your gona save on shipping ($40-$50 savings) and some of the breeders will cut a discount. Prime example I found a 2010 male albino at our last show for 225.00....they average 400.00 here . I was gna jump on it but wasnt was i was shootin for that show.

*Picks jaw up off ground and rolls tongue in mouth*

WOW! I shouldve went to one before i went to a private breeder to get a normal :(
dont get me wrong I do love my snake but i also LOVE albinos

Do prices also vary depending on the time of year? Like do breeders lower their prices (even if its a smidgen) at the end and beginning of year?

I have gotten a few great deals at shows, but that was usually after I talk to the breeder for a while an negotiate a good price. Most of the time though I am able to negotiate the same types of deals though breeders. A lot depends on how good at negotiating a deal you are. I have found that breeders that I deal with on a regular basis will usually offer me a price that is extremely competitive with shows in my area, and this way I know exactly how my snake has been cared for. :D

yea im not that good at negotiating lol. not even if it were to save my life. Oh well. maybe ill make friends with someone who is good
