hogg island boa strange behavior

My Hogg island female has been acting strangely and its got me worried. She's gone off feed for the past few weeks, but that's not whats got me worried. Although , she's never gone off for this long in the whole time I've had her. I've had her for 2 yrs now.

I spoke to a guy at the reptile store where I get my feeders and he was saying she might be looking to breed.

The part that has me concerned is that she's been rubbing her nose against the glass in her enclosure , to the point of removing the scales from her nose. She doesn't do it all the time , but she never used to do it at all before. I'm just trying to find out why the change in behavior.

anyone ever experienced anything like this before?

Has anything changed inside the enclosure? Anything at all? What about the environment surrounding the enclosure? More foot traffic in view of the tank, more noise, more lights, anything?

My kingsnake used to nose around a lot, too. Not so much that she rubbed off any scales, but it was pretty bad sometimes. She's right next to my desk, and I had been doing a lot of late-night homework when she started with the nosing. I realized the lamp was keeping her up, so I added a sheet of black aquarium background film to the side of the tank, so as to block off the light. Now she's back to nosing around only when she's hungry.

Just one idea, not sure if it can help....

well I was relieved to see her eat last night. At first I didn't think she would take the rat , since she kinda ignored it for a while. I decided to leave it in the tank for a bit and about 10 mins later I looked in and she was chowing down on it.:gj:

Strange still , though, since she's usually very aggressive feeder. Normally when I feed her, all I need to do is open the lid and stick the rat in the tank and she strikes it within seconds.
