New enthusiast - questions regarding ball python setup, tubs, thermostat, heating
Hello all,
I've been lurking for awhile but finally have the means and setup to get back into snakes! I've owned a few throughout the years but I'm new to ball pythons. I've been reading the forums and learning about them for several years. I finally have the means to do things right. I never jump before looking :) I just want to run a basic setup by everyone to see if it sounds like I'm headed in the right direction. Here goes what I've decided so far:
Herpstat 1 Proportional Thermostat
4" Flexwatt
Necessary Flexwatt clips
Necessary Flexwatt cords
16qt Sterilite for the two snakes
35qt Sterilite once they outgrow the 16qt
Black contact paper for the tubs to provide a secure feeling for the snakes
2 hides for each container (necessary or not? I have read conflicting info)
Plastic waterbowls according to tub size (easier to sanitize than other materials)
Digital dual probe Temperature/Hygrometer for each tub (read they are better than single probe)
Paper for bedding
Have I missed anything obvious? I'm getting ready to place my order through the beanfarm.com next week. I have a spare bedroom that will exclusively be used for snakes and my art work.
I will make sure that my temps and humidity are in check and stable before I order my two snakes. I'm looking to start with a bumble bee male and a mojave or lesser female.
