Albino Pos Het Pied

Ok so the reptile store I go to has a male albino poss Het Pied for sale. the guys told me that it is het but because it didnt come with any paperwork they have to sell it as a poss. I was told it did come from a reputable breeder (altho I forgot who it was lol) He looks to be a 2010 and around 250 grams. How much do you feel hes worth?

He may be worth more, but I wouldn't pay more than $500. :D

My advice, if there is no paperwork and you don't know the name of the breeder then I would NOT pay extra for made up genetics (because for all you know thats all they are.)
$300 is the most I would pay for a male Albino (400 for a nice high contrast one).
If you really want to know the genetics I would recommend researching who the breeder was who produced it, checking their reputation and then contacting them to find out if the snake really came from them and if really is het for Pied.

Without guarantees from the original breeders and not having him proved out yet he is not worth more than a regular albino.

I believe the store is taking you for a ride.

To produce an albino pied you need to already have an albino pied to pair him with another albino, DH, het etc.

Now here are the issues

Because of the odds not many breeders have produce Albino Pied

Because of the price that an albino het pied would fetch (several thousands) a breeder is not likely to wholesale them to a pet store which in turn would only sell it as a possible because of the lack of paperwork.

If it sounds to good then most likly it is. I would not spend more then for a normal albino would be. I hope you dont pay to much for it

I didnt get it. Its goin for 550 but I was told that they would sell it to me for 475. but still......i dunno

I found a beautiful, high contrast female albino PH pied for $400 (paperwork included). It was a 2 egg clutch; daddy was a DH albino pied, mommy was an albino, and 2 albinos came out. She looked *different*, so I decided to take the leap and pick her up. (I had always wanted an albino and now I have one.)

IF she proves out, she's worth at least 10x what I paid. IF she doesn't, she's a beautiful albino that I picked up at a fair market price.

As others have mentioned, don't pay too much; they could be a shady shop trying to make an extra $100-200 off some unknowing customer. $475 is way too much IMHO.

475 in my opinion is still way too much for a "Poss" het Pied that there is no proof for. 400 is the absolute most I would consider buying a male Albino for, and that would have to be a super high contrast Albino from a reputable line of high contrasts to warrant 400. If the pet store won't negotiate down to that I would recommend attending a local reptile show or contacting a BP breeder for a fair price on a Albino.

Why would an Albino het Pied not come with papers (from a "reputable" breeder). My plain old het for Pied girl came with papers... Something is fishy to me. As stated above...Try looking up the breeder and contacting him about the snake. See if he/she sold one to that store?

They offered me a 10% discount on top of my normal 10%. I was told that it was hatched by the owner and that he didn't feel like writing up paperwork so they're selling it as a possible het. I'll always pass on deals that sound too good to be true, and that ranks right up there.
