    NARBC pick up
 I fell in love with a snake at the NARBC~

A lovely brazilian rainbow boa female from Bryan Hummel! She's AWESOME! :D

These pictures absolutely do her no credit, she is gorgeous in person. She has a lot of contrast and variety in her colors(some colors are more dull and dark, on her sides she is a reddish dark grey..but the orange crescents look even more vivid because they are against such a dark background!)

She's so fast! I'm not used to baby snakes! I know she isn't a hatchling, but she is still our smallest snake we've ever owned. We were putting her deli cup into her new enclosure and she pushed it open and crawled up Nathan's arms! That's when I snapped these pictures when he got her into his hands. She didn't bite, she was just curious, looking around and wagging her tongue everywhere. We managed to get her back into her new quarantine tub and next month we will move her into her own real enclosure! Woohoo!

Thanks! It's going to be a struggle not to handle her for this week, lol! Thankfully I had to fly back to georgia for college so I won't even get a chance to. Can't wait to get back this summer and see her again! Nathan's sending me pictures, she's sticking her head out of her hide!

Nice pickup, and I really understand the feeling of not being able to hold your new pet for a week...

No kidding! Apparently Nathan's father was just as frustrated as us with not being able to hold her.. but he did anyway!

I swear, I can't wait til we build a LOCKING enclosure!!! It's annoying to enter the reptile room(you know, the one time you don't lock the door..) and see half the heat lamps off(he turned them off so he wouldn't burn himself when he got them out, and didn't turn them back on..), our supplies in places we didn't leave them, and well him handling our new animals! I think there is a reason why he is the only person to have gotten bitten yet.

Well, little Dorothy bit him twice, and he deserved it! Hopefully he'll learn his lesson. Every time he goes in alone without our supervision he ends up getting bit or messing things up. It's ridiculous.

:colbert: I gave him a good talking to. He knows now WHY we are not supposed to hold her so hopefully he won't be tempted again. She gave him some nasty cuts so I hope his fingers hurt too much to go through all the trouble anyway!

But really, we shouldn't have to treat him like he's a child, but I still feel like we have to child proof everything! So silly, just don't touch the snake!

:D Just figured I should update this. Dorothy has pooped, eaten, and gone deep into shed! Everything so far looks great!! I would definitely buy from Bryan again! Also, Nathan's dad has gotten the picture and stopped trying to bug her. So she was able to have her time to rest and acclimate. :P

Thanks! In three weeks I fly back home for spring break.. I'll bring my real camera and do a quick photoshoot with her so you can see her real colors!
