Morph?

So, this little dude was given to me as a Pastel Red Tail BUT since he is my first little guy and SUCK at identifying any type of morph whether it be geckos or snakes, I have no idea if it's true. In all honestly it doesn't matter because he's beautiful either way BUT i'm curiouse. :D

and my brother-in-laws little Red Tail. She's a lot darker, has a really red tail, and has the prettiest pinks along her side. :)

She's really squiggly so didn't get many good pictures.

Also, to add to the question... Do these guys normally darken or lighten up as they grow? I know that when it comes to Corn Snakes they tend to lighten as they grow, same here?:confused: Again, sorry for being naive and asking these "new B" questions but yeah... Lol! Pictures are always welcome! Comparisons?

They will lighten and darken as they grow. They go through light and dark phases. Sometimes the change can be minor and sometimes it can be quite dramatic...

I do not own any pastel boas, and do not know too much about them. However, from what I have seen on the net, your does share at least one characteristic of a pastel, which is the pink hue down its sides. Pretty boa either way. Yes, the boa will eventually darken. It surprises me sometimes how their colors change so drastically from baby to adult. My adult salmon male looks nothing like when I acquired him at a few months old.

Boas are really tough to take pics of. Once out of their cage, they are all over the place. The last pic is a good one. It shows off his colors nicely.

It was line bred over many years by some people like Jeff Ronne, Clay English to produce lighter color boas.

My little guy was surprisingly calm and just hung out on my shoulders the day he was dropped off but it could have been because it was a new environment.
The second set of pictures is are ones of my brother in laws female while the first set are of my little guy. Castro (my RTB) has VERY little pinks on his body and is a lot lighter than the other including his "red tail". His head and body are almost a white in color, or creamy white.

I did not realize that was two different snakes when I first saw this thread. Honestly, yours to me looks like a normal Colombian boa. Good looking nonetheless. It could be a pastel. I just do not know enough about them to say definitely one way or the other.

I have a 55 gallon tank that I am emptying out SO now i'm going to put Castro into the 55, heavily decorate to provide lots of hiding places, and get another snake for the other tank i'll have left over. I wanted a Rainbow boa and they sell them at a good price at LLL (it's about 40 minutes from me). Anyway, is Castro indeed a Columbian?

He's looking like a Columbian to me :) But I'm fairly new to the boa stuff, so although I'd go with Columbian I can't be sure that I'm right.
