Rate My Tub

What do yall think? http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/p...631033&theater My cool side temp is 75 my basking spot is 92-93 my humidity is 73-75. My substrate is Zilla Jungle Mix with sa little Zoo Med Reptibark added in ( Almost pure Reptibark under the hide as it was 100 degrees under with just Zilla )

I can't see the pic, because I don't have a FB account. But, if you are using a thermostat to control the Under Tank Heater, you shouldn't be getting 100F temps...

Your humidity is too high which could cause some serious issues if you keep the snake on wet bedding for too long.
The sides of the tubs should only sweat when the snake spills it's bowl or pees in the tub or the water bowl sits directly over the heat source.

You do not control the temperature with substrate, you have to keep your belly heat plugged into a thermostat or your asking for trouble, IE: a burned snake.
You cannot accurately tell what the temperature of a UTH is with those dial thermometers, you need a probed thermometer to do that.
Indoor/outdoor thermometers work great for tubs, you place the unit itself in the cool end of the tub to read that temperature and you run the probe over to the hot spot and place it directly over the UTH to read that temperature.
The hot spot should not go over 95 with 90-92 being ideal.

Tub looks good, everything about the temps has pretty much been said, just get yourself a thermostat or rheostat at the very least. You want around 60% humidity. Your humidity can be changed by using a larger or smaller water bowl. Also, try using a less absorbent substrate like newspaper to get it down some. (also easier to clean and no risk of ingestion) Ball pythons are from Africa, not the amazon. Enought humidity for a good shed is necessary, but they don't need to be wet. Good looking setup though. He will be a happy snake!

Its super wet because I asked my lil brother to Mist it....that turned into a shower.. But the humidty will drop, As for the temps I have a thermostat its just acting funny.

now the jungle mix from zillla you bought.. is it the aged douglas fir bark? because i bought that recently after bein told by a guy at the new england reptile expo and he recomended it.. and also.. keep that water dish clean..

x2 -- everyone can see your pics and you can post them right in the thread if you use photobucket or something similiar.

If your snake's eating, healthy, and shedding in one piece, who cares how it looks!?
With that being said, it looks fine to me.

Really pretty snake! If I were you, I'd invest in some digital thermometers/hygrometer and I'd either get rid of that log hide or push one of the open ends completely against the side of the tub to make that hide feel more secure. You're better off with 2 matching hides, though.

Or none at all, depending on who you ask.
I only give picky eaters hides and I have never given two hides to any snake in a tub ;)
It's all about personal choice and IMO ball pythons in tubs generally do not "need" hides at all.
