It depends on what you're breeding. If it's a Co-Dom (supers, like a BEL or Super Cinnamon) Your hatchlings will be all of whatever makes up that super(so all mojaves if it's a super mojave, cinnamons it it's a super cinnamon). If it is just dominant (spider) each egg has 50% possibility of being a morph. If you breed a recessive (albino, hypo, etc), you'll get all hets (no visual morph). If you breed hets to your normal, you'll get possible hets (You won't know if they're het or not until you prove them out)

I could be wrong as I have yet to breed anything, but normal balls are a lot cheaper, so I think a lot of people breed to normal females so they get more hatchlings overall (i.e.- if you have 1 male morph and 3 female normals, you could get 3 clutches, and it would be more affordable than buying multiple female morphs). Like I said could be wrong, but that's what it seems.

If you breed a Dominant morph to a normal you will get a 50 percent chance per egg that it will be the same morph. Breeding a recessive morph such as an albino or pied to a normal will give each egg a 50% chance of carrying the albino or pied gene. The baby will still look like the normal wild type though.

    Wrong....
Breeding a recessive trait to a normal makes every snake a 100% het ;)

Getting a start with co-doms or Doms to a normal is how most people begin and learn the breeding process.
My first season breeding I bred my yellow belly male to a normal and got 4 female yellowbelly's that I'm now able to breed this season.
Having those morph girls come from a simple yb X normal breeding afforded me morphs that I couldn't afford to buy as adults but could afford to raise up to adults.
My odds were awesome and not something to be expected but you never know...

    Re: breeding to normal?
If you are breeding a dom/co-dom or double gene male to a normal it gives you the best bang for the buck if your looking to sell the offspring.

    Example:

lemon blast male to normal....you could hit pin, pastel, lemonblast, normal. If you hit one blast in the clutch you have made your money back from minimal investment.

This goes along with what others have said as well. It enables you to spend less and get into other morphs.
