so i got my flexwatt in... cut it every 2 feet... and than my dad told me that i needed to cut it where there was the clear line going through the black... I didn't do that so will it be okay? or did i just screw 50 dollars of flex watt up? I really need to know as i'm building this as we speak.... please help.... i'm pissed right now lol

Ideally, you should not cut into the black strips at all but cut between them. The black elements are pretty close together so you should be able to just trim off the end at the next clear spot then cover the cut end with electrical tape. You may lose an inch or so on the 2' strip but at least it will be safe for sure.

Perhaps you can add a picture so we can see where exactly it was cut.

I'd just trim it to the nearest clear sections..you shouldnt lose that much and it's better that way. I dont know for sure why but I've heard that you're not supposed to do that...it says so on the directions/user guide thingy.

Those little breaks that you see on the underside are 1 foot markers. The element is still solid through those areas.
