How do you clean your ceramic bowls?
For those of you who like me who have to clean many ceramic bowls consistently what do you feel is the most cost effective way to sanitize your water bowls? I've been using antibacterial dish soap but I've heard of people using diluted bleach, special reptile safe disinfectants or even a small steam cleaner. Which way do you feel is best to clean/sanitize your BP's water bowls?

I use chlorhexidine/distilled water solution to disinfect bowls that aren't very dirty. I alway rinse them with water well before adding the new water to make sure there isn't any disinfectant left on them. If the bowls are very dirty, like if a snake defecates in its water, I clean the bowls with 1:10 bleach/water mixture. I'll let it sit for a minute then rinse well and dry before adding new water.

I just run under water and scour them out with one of those dobbie pads and rinse the spray them with some chlorhexidine/water mix and rinse again. If real bad, I soak in a bucket with a 1:10 bleach/water for a little while, then rinse and fill.

Same as above!!! You can get a huge bottle of Cholrohexadine at reptilebasics.com and it lasts forever. You can also use it to clean out cuts and scrapes. This is what vets give you when you have to wash out a wound on an animal. Its my miracle cleaner...lol. I even use it on my countertops after doing anything with raw meat.
