    Mites!!! Please help
I received three bp's on jan 3 of this year that i ordered online. Three days after receiving them I discovered that they were all infested w/ mites. There tubs were already treated w/provent a mite ahead of time and I treated them w/ reptile relief every three days for about three weeks, wich seemed to do nothing. But i was sure the mites had run there course and were gone. Two of the three have shed out on there own since and the other had a stuck shed wich i removed after soaking. I keep my bp's on paper towel substrate and i hadn't seen any mites for about three weeks until tonight. I was cleaning tubs and there was one single mite crawling on the water bowl of the same snake w/ the stuck shed. I know they're not nesting in the tubs because i completely clean and change the paper in them about every three days. Any idea where they're coming from? And any idea on how I can get rid of them for good? I,ve had no luck w/ reptile relief or zoo med mite killer. I heard the black knight works well but it is no longer on the market. Any suggestions would be great...thanks.

Look up provent-a-mite. Brian Barczyk from BHB recommends it! Kinda pricey but well worth avoiding any more headaches.

I would soak all your snake's in Luke warm water that is deep enough to go over their back in a tub with a lid for about an hour keep an eye on them to be sure they are ok that should drowned all the mites on the snakes. Before you put them away re treat all you cages with prevent a mite follow the instructions on the can.

provent an mite works great treat the tubs then place snake back in after it dries. I would say ifg water bowl got a lip soak it in hot bleach water for an hour of 3 and spray the under lip of it .
I also sprayed the area around the tubs/ snake room floor to prevent /kill any that gotten out of the tub/cage. with no issues to date.

Having mite is a pain but I rather have a mite issue than a cat issue

I stated in my thread that i've been using PAM. It hasn't worked all that well and i've followed the instructions to the tee....And the snakes that have the mites came from BHB
