Stuck shed for at least a week. Whole head/neck. What to do?

My BP has a lot of stuck shed still on his head/neck area. It has been a week, maybe two. I've tried soaking him briefly a few times, added a damp rag, sprayed his tank multiple times each day. I figured if I kept it up it would go away and I did not think there was any danger to waiting.

I called the pet store where I got him and they said they could help, but it's a really long drive so that is out unless it is an emergency, and I didn't think it was. I was trying to find some info online and read somewhere it can kill the skin underneath the stuck shed :tears:

I just fed him yesterday but what I need to know is how do I get it off, and is he in any danger? This is his first shed with me and it feels like it has been going on for forever. He is my first BP and when I had cornsnakes if I waited and misted it would always come off.

just keep his humidity around 75% or a lil higher and soak him in warm baths for 20-30 mins and it will sooner or later come off just make sure your humidity is high enough in the encloser

Last time I tried soaking him he started whistling. I guess he stuck his head under the water. If that happens again should I worry or will it just go away like it did last time...

My ball Python just starter shedding today and the skin is coming off in flakes rather than all at once. I've kept the humidity at 70% since his eyes turned blue. Just like you Dabra, it is my snakes first shed since I brought her home two weeks ago. I noticed that he is really trying but nothing is coming off. Is this the way ball pythons shed?

ball pythons shed in one peice (or suppose to) the whistle you heard ive also heard from mine i useualy bump my humidity to 80-85% when my balls go blue just to help and every ball ive ever had shed shed either in one peice or two with little patches that i had to soak them and they came off after a few times

I sprayed my ball python and it really made a difference! I've sprayed 3 times and the skin is almost off.

If I ever get a stuck shed, I take the snake's water bowl and tip it over. I come back the next day and change out the bedding, cause at this point the snake's stuck shed has come off. Best if you use newspaper as the substrate for this technique.

I know it sounds crude, but it rains in Africa too, you know? And this way they have a nice warm, wet spot and a very humid tub for a night.
