    Hides....
I know we have all come up with some freaky stuff to use as hides for our balls.
My wife and I were walking around lowes the other day and she pointed these out to me. I cannot find the ones I got on their site but they are the same style but black in color. Also a 4 pack that is a little heavier than these yellow ones for the same price. 7.88 isnt bad because when you split it by 4 its $1.97 each.

I have tried them in Dozzer's tank and he actually picked this over his original hide! He didnt go back to his warm side till I replaced that hide too:confused:
He only fills about half of it and he is about 550g right now.
I worked it a little into the substrate so he has to crawl under it to get in LOL

My first impression is that they have too much head room and the opening is much larger than it needs to be. Of course at the end of the day all that matters is that your snake is not stressed.

Funny that he selects this one over his previous hide lol
Did not expect to read that as this one has a fairly large opening and he cannot hide properly, but hey if the snake is happy why not :D

    Inside measurements are 5" wide x 8 1/2" deep x 5" tall

I was a little worried by the height too but so far my pastel seems to love them.
Gonna try some with my spider tonight.
The opening is wide so I sank them in the substrate so it wouldnt be as tall of an opening.

Funny thing is (his tank is close to the door going out into the garage) every time I open or close the door he looks out to see whats going on. We caught him watching my wife cooking dinner last night too. Then again he is our most sociable snake ever. Any time the lid comes off he will come out and climb your arm.

That is quite nice, good catch. They are very inqusitive critters, I often add something new to the enclosure every once in a while and leave it for a week or two and take it back out just to give them a new investigation object.
