Yet another tub size question (sorry)
Ok sorry to be posting yet another "What size tub do I use?" post but here goes...

I have seen a lot of guys using 28 and 32 qt sterilite tubs for their racks and my question is this. At roughly what weight do you change your adults into 41qt tubs? I was in target today looking at tubs deciding what to use to build my rack and 28qt tub look really small for any animal that has very much size to it. I am just getting started on my collection and most of my animals are smaller right now but I have a few 1000-1500 gram balls and one female around 1800. Now, ideally I would like a hide on both ends and of course a water dish. I really can't see all that in a 28 or 32 plus a snake that's got much size. What size do you let your snakes get to before you step up to 41s? Or is the smaller tub actually better and I'm stressing over nothing? Thanks in advance for your help.

I have my adults in 41s At about 1800 gm or so it depends on the snake. I have a heavy male who if 2200 but he is short. He looks fine but my big female I have she is very long. She looks far too big for a 41. (4300gm) She coils and touches both sides. I have no hides with her as she takes up over half the tub coiled. I am moving her out to an enclosure soon (33x24).

I move my females up to 40 qt tubs at 1500 grams or just before breeding so they get used to their new tub before breeding season.
I posted these pics for another forum on the same type question.

This is different size girls in a 28qt tub...

Thanks guys for the quick answers and as far as weighing go to wal-mart and pick up a digital food scale it goes up to 5000 grams and it's 20.00. Works great.

I use a food scale I bought at target. You can get them from reptilebasics.com as well.

As for moving to a 41qt, I would say around 2,000g is a safe bet.
