    what incubator????
i am looking to buy an incubator for ball python eggs. i do not have the confidence to build 1 of my own and would prefer to buy 1 that i know would be reliable.

i would like 1 with space for at least 2 clutches, more if possible for future possibilities, and is proven to be reliable as this is the first time i will be doing anything like this and i want to take no chances.

i have looked at the 'exo-terra incubator' and the 'Lucky Reptile Vivarium Herp Nursery II - Incubator' which seem to be similar and apparently reliable but i cant get a good idea of space and how many ball python clutches these would safely take.

would 1 of these be suitable or would i be better with something else???

Sadly with both incubator you mentioned which are both the same (different brand it's not gonna happen.

I got to carefully examine this incubator last weekend and a 6 quarts tubs does not even fit in it, you would have to use small deli cups and you would be very lucky if you can fit 2 clutches in it and you can definitely forget about fitting more in the future.

Building your own is really not that complicated there are tons of DIY out there, the most economical would be a large cooler if you don't ever plan on more than 6 to 8 clutches in the future or a fridge.

I just turned a fridge into an incubator, it holds 30 (6 quarts) egg boxes or 10 (6 quarts) and 10 (15 quarts) egg boxes and between the t-stat, heat tapa and egg boxes I paid the same amount you are looking into for something hardly holding 2 clutches.

Definitely building your own is the way to go IMO.

This is a true cooler I picked up for this season.
I'm going to have $425 into it and it will hold 18 6qt tubs with the current amount of shelves and can be expanded further with another shelf.

Herpstat thermostat, 60 inches of flexwatt heat tape, a bathroom ceiling fan wired to a dimmer switch, water bottles for top and bottom to keep stable temperatures.

Simple to build and larger and "better" than anything you can buy for the money.

humidity is controlled inside the tubs and using a vermiculite mixture will get you the 100% humidity you need

    This :)

The incubator only provides heat, all of the humidity is kept inside of the tubs.
