odor relief

So I read the diy carbon air filter sticky and I am wondering how many people are using these. I am curious how well they work from what research I have done they seem big amongst hydroponic growers.

A friend of mine used one in his rat room. It definitely helped, but it's not an odor eliminator.

how big was it? Maybe a larger one could do more? I dunno I think I wanna try one. Hopefully somebody will chime in who has used one for our type of hobby versus the indoor growers sites I have been reading on.
