Most people put it directly on the heat source. What are you using for heat, flexwatt?

yes thats what im going to use..so i just find a shelf on the rack that i want to use and go from there?and what would i use to set up a thing to show my humidity? i was thihnking about getting a accurite thermometer/hydromoter(sp) and drilling a tiny hole in the middle rack tward the center of the tub and stiking it thru there...would that work?

You should place the probe on top of the heat source but with a small bit of tub between it is a bit more accurate that way.

I'd recommend checking the top and bottom. Heat rises and my bottom of the rack is the coldest and the top warmest it is by 5 or 6 degrees. I actually don't use the bottom at all. Besides it is very hard to clean that one anyway.
